Glass mat

Glass Mat

Glass mat (non-woven fiberglass mat) is a sheet material made from chopped glass fibers laid in a random orientation and bonded into a stable web. It’s widely used as a reinforcement layer across construction and industrial products where consistency, strength, and dimensional stability matter.

Our glass mat is produced using a wet-lay process: chopped E-glass fibers are evenly dispersed across the forming surface, then bonded with an emulsion binder. The web is consolidated, de-aired, and dried to create a uniform, multi-directional mat. This process helps produce reliable roll goods with consistent formation and handling characteristics.

We supply glass mat in roll form across a range of densities and widths depending on the target use. It can be used as a standalone reinforcement layer or as a facing/reinforcement component in downstream products. Finished materials made with glass mat are known for durability, good mechanical performance over time, and strong resistance to moisture and many common chemicals.

Glassmat Plita

Glassmat Plita (GP) panels are gypsum-based boards reinforced with a glass mat facing. They’re commonly used where a tough, stable surface is needed — including exterior façade systems and interior build-outs. GP panels can be finished with paint or installed beneath a variety of cladding options such as brick, stone, metal, wood, vinyl, and other façade systems.

This board style is valued for its resistance to moisture and mold, solid impact performance, and overall durability. It also supports cleaner, more consistent finishing compared to many traditional sheathing options.

Because of its performance under heat and fire exposure (depending on the specific assembly and rating), it’s also commonly selected for areas where added protection is important — such as stairwells, corridors, and elevator shaft surrounds.
